Sweet 16 Topsy Turvy Cake

Bob, a local resident in Denville, NJ reached out to us and asked if we could create a special cake for his daughter’s sweet 16 at the Rockaway Country Club. He had looked through our sweet 16 cake gallery and thought our style would be a good fit for his daughter.

We worked with the family to create this colorful 4 tier topsy turvy cake. The top of the cake includes a gilttery silver “16″ with brightly colored stars. The top and third tiers are covered in lime fondant with turquoise fondant swirl cutouts. The second and bottom tiers are covered in hot pink fondant with black zebra stripes.

Colorful Sweet 16 Topper & Cake

We included a variety of elements on the cake which represents the birthday girl’s interests including a soccer ball, sneakers, weights, diamonds, sunglasses, and a spatula. Flavors and fillings included red velvet with vanilla and raspberry chambord buttercream, vanilla with hazelnut and chocolate buttercream and chocolate with oreos and peanut butter buttercream.

1st Birthday Cake

Jen reached out to us last year and asked us if we could create a cake for her son Roman’s first birthday. She asked us to incorporate the colors and style of this 1st birthday cupcake tower.

The cake included white, blue, red and yellow stripes to coordinate with the birthday’s invitation. A blue cutout one decorates the top tier and the bottom tier includes Roman’s name.

Flavors and fillings included chocolate cake with hazelnut buttercream and marble cake with chocolate buttercream. We delivered the cake to Dave & Busters in West Nyack, NJ.

90th Birthday Floral Cake

We created this cake for our friend Pat’s mother’s 90th birthday. The cake is covered in blush pink fondant with white piped pearls around the base of each tier. We decorated the cake with the birthday girl’s various monikers which included “Grandma”, “G-Ma”, “Marie”, “Ma” and “Mom”.

The cake is also has a valentine’s feel with the pink and reds incorporated into the cake and flowers. Flowers included roses, calla lilies, tulips and hydrangea.

Dear Anne,

How can I tell you what a central part of my Mom’s party your gorgeous cake played? So many pictures were taken of IT, my Mom with IT, and so many others next to IT. My sister-law from Iowa said she thought it was terrible to cut it up! The flowers were magnificent! The colors were so perfect and, of course, the taste was fabulous! I loved the blush color too!

Mom tried some of the vanilla layer, and some of the chocolate as well. She liked them both. We are all in awe of your artistry. Joan took the flowers to make an arrangement for Mom to keep. Thank you for sharing your talent and generosity in making such a beautiful work of art and a delicious dessert!

Sculpted Dog Suprise Birthday Cake

For Scott’s 50th birthday we were asked to create a sculpted cake version of the family’s dog Nilla. The is decked out in a hot pink collar with purple, blue, and green polka dots. A gold heart dog tag with the dog’s name hangs across her chest.

Champagne Silver Bucket Cake

This was an exciting cake for us to make because we were able to incorporate two poured sugar elements – a champagne bottle and ice cubes. The cake was created for Andrew’s 40th birthday party in New York City. And to add to the excitement, we had the opportunity to team up with one of our favorite NYC party planners, Shawn Rabideau to design the cake.

Poured Sugar Cubes

At the top of the cake is a poured sugar Dom Preignon bottle with a popped cork and fondant drops of champagne splattering into the air. It sits in a silver champagne bucket with poured sugar ice. We added lights inside the bucket to give the ice cubes a shimmery effect. Unfortunately you really can’t make out the lights in the photo, so take a look at the video below to get a better idea.

The front of the bucket included a number “40″ for Andrew’s big day. We also custom designed various champagne labels around the cake featuring Andrew’s birth year.

Princess Cupcake, Cake & Cookie Collections

Inspired by our 1st Birthday Princess Cupcake Stand, this princess collection ties together crown cookies, with polka dot cupcakes and a princess cupcake topper. The topper is covered in raspberry pink fondant with polka dots. White cutout starts with a baby pink rolled gumpaste number “1″ sits atop the cake. A white tiara shaped to match the tiara cookies hilights the front of the cake. The center of the crown includes Audrey’s name piped in raspberry pink.

Coordinating with the cake topper, we created 60 raspberry pink tiara cookies with Audrey’s named piped in the center of each cookie. Each cookie was pearlized and glittered with edible rainbow gltitter and packaged in clear bags with white and baby pink ribbons.

Polka Dotted Princess Cupcakes

Each cupcake was decorated with raspberry pink polka dots to coordinate the princess collection. Cupcake flavors included red velvet with vanilla buttercream, vanilla buttercream with vanilla and chocolate with vanilla buttercream.

Bat Mitzvah Winter Wonderland Cake

Heather reached out to us last year asking if we could work with her to help design her daughter Emily’s Bat Mitzvah cake. Last year we worked with the family to design a Bat Mitzvah cake for their other daughter Rebecca, so we were excited to do another cake for the family.

For this cake we designed a winter wonderland theme for the celebration. The top of the cake included a glittery silver “12″ with a variety of light blue and white snowflakes. The second tier is covered in light blue fondant with a white center band with a bow and tails. The center of the bow is highlighted with a crystal snowflake.

Flavors and filling included red velvet with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with marshmallow buttercream and vanilla with chocoalte buttercream. We delivered the cake to the Powerhouse in East Hanover, NJ.

"Hear & Now" Wedding Anniversary Cake

One of our favorite customers reached out to us about creating a 20th anniversary wedding anniversary cake for her parent’s anniversary party at Martell’s Waters Edge in Bayville, NJ.

We incorporated several special items from the couple’s life including a replica of their boat, signs from locations they’ve visited, bright hibiscus flowers from Hawaii, a 3d sculpted rock formation from Lover’s Beach and their grandchildren’s names.

We also included the bride and groom perched atop the bottom tier of the cake. Their likeness was inspired by photos from their wedding day. The bride is dressed in a white lace dress and hat while holding a bouquet. The groom is wearing glasses with a black suit, white shrit and a wide silver tie.

The cake transitions from light blue at the top to a more traditional white wedding tier at the base. The entire cake was marble with 2 layers vanilla mousse and 1 layer chocolate ganache.

Topsy Turvy Sweet 16 Cake

Michelle reached out to us to help design a special cake for her daughter Taylor’s sweet 16 celebration at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, NJ. For the design we we worked in our favorite color hot pink along with black, white and accented silver piped swirls. (The silver piped pearls were inspired by this sweet 16 cake we designed nearly 2 years ago)

The top of the cake includes a silver standing “T” for Taylor along with hot pink and black ribbon roses. The top and bottom tiers are covered in white fondant while the middle tier is covered in hot pink with a black center band and bow. The center of band includes a hot pink brooch.

The entire cake was vanill rainbow polka dotted with mocha buttercream.

Sweet 16 Winter Wonderland Snowflake Cake

It means a lot to us when a customer comes back for another cake order. Trish emailed us back in October and asked if we could create a sweet 16 cake for their daughter’s sweet 16 party at the Madison Hotel last weekend. We created a cake for the family back in 2009 and Trish was kind enough to leave us this comment thanking us for the first cake:

We were so happy with our first daughter’s cake from you (Nov 2009 @ the NJPAC) that we’re back for daughter # 2!

This time around, she and her daughter took a look at a few of our winter themed cakes and decided on a similar cake to this 2 tier winter wonderland cake.

The top of the cake included a standing gumpaste “16″ in silver with white piped snow and white and light blue snowflakes and stars. The entire cake, 4 tiers in all, was covered in white fondant. The first and third tiers were decorated in light blue swirls with white snowflakes and silver piped dot accents. The second and fourth tiers are highlighted by light blue and silver stripes with silver piped dot accents.
